Heckscher State Park | Long Island, NY
Heckscher State Park. One of the prettiest parks on Long Island was established thanks to August Heckscher. The NY State bought the land from private owners with money donated by Heckscher, facing significant opposition from wealthy residents of the Town of Islip.
The park's territory is 1,600 acres, and the park is located on the south shore of Long Island between Islip and Oakdale. I like jogging in the park on its 4-mile-long paved path. Paved trails attract runners, walkers, bicycle riders, and nature photographers. Amazing views of the Great South Bay with Fire Island as the backdrop make this park a great spot for couples photoshoots and engagement sessions.
Hours of operations, fees, and directions can be found on the Heckscher State Park website page.
If you’d like to have your engagement/couples session in this park or somewhere else, inquire with us today, and let’s make it happen!
