Candlelight Concert in Los Angeles. Performed by Orchid Quartet.

Candlelight concert with orchid quartet

Attending a candlelight concert in Los Angeles featuring the Orchid Quartet was an unforgettable experience for my wife and me. It was my Valentine’s gift to her, and it might be one of the best Valentine’s gifts I have come up with over the last 10 years of our life together. The candlelight concert was led by the string quartet caller Orchid Quartet. This powerhouse quartet, based in Los Angeles, comprises four highly sought-after musicians—Molly, Michelle, Kiara, and Leah—who have performed and toured with top artists and regularly record for major record labels, video games, and film and television soundtracks. The quartet’s versatility shines through in their diverse performances, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary tributes. Their upcoming schedule includes a variety of themed concerts, such as “Queen vs. ABBA” and “A Tribute to Taylor Swift,” set in iconic Los Angeles venues like The Biltmore and The LA Equestrian Center.

GET your candlelight tickets on FEVER

It was super easy to book tickets to the concert through Fever (https://feverup.com/en/los-angeles/). Unfortunately, I came up with the idea a bit too close to Valentine’s Day because no tickets were left for that day or that weekend. The next available concert was a week later, and it was “A Tribute to Adele” – amazing, I thought. Tereza, my wife, and I are both fans of Adele’s music and we were both excited to listen to Adele’s hits performed by a talented quartet in a magical venue – Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Koreatown.

TICKET PRICE and concert details

Tickets for two balcony seats cost me a little over $120. Each concert will have slightly different seating zones and prices, but on average, tickets run for $50 per person. The concert was set to begin at 6:30 pm, and it’s important to be there on time out of respect for musicians and fellow attendees. The quartet started playing at around 6:40 pm and finished about an hour later. After the concert, concertgoers could purchase little gifts for their loved ones and themselves, like flameless candles and some swag.

The musicians invited everyone to film their performance of the final two songs. This was a nice gesture since phones and cameras were banned during the concert. Here is a short video of one of the last songs I filmed from the church balcony.
